As a band, independent musician, or label, it's not always easy to find the time — or the inspiration — to regularly feed your social media and offer interesting content to your community.
Yet your project is about more than just your music. The people who follow you on social media can also be interested in your world, the members of your band, your gear, the backstage of your shows, your rehearsals… and everything that makes up the life of your band, in the end!
In this new article, we bring you 5 post ideas you can use to grow your visibility on social media!

1. Who's in your band?
Let's start from the beginning! Who's in your band? What are your different roles?
You can share a photo of each musician, accompanied by a short introduction: their first name or stage name, their role in the band, their influences…
If you have the time and the ability to do so, you can also create a more dynamic video format (reel), for example in the form of a mini interview. Each member can answer a few quick questions.
To create even more content, nothing stops you from dedicating a post to each member of your band! This will give you several ready-made publications!
2. What gear do you use?
Within your community, there are bound to be musicians. That's why posts dedicated to the gear you use can be of interest to them!
What instrument do you play? What brand do you use? What amp, pedal, or mic do you use?
It's also a great way to spark conversations with your audience. Some followers may use the same gear as you, others might ask for your advice, or, on the flip side, they might recommend other tools to you!
3. How does your band work?
It's always interesting to find out who does what within the band, especially around the release of an EP or album! Who writes the different tracks? Who writes the lyrics? How are ideas shared among you?
Through a video or simply a photo, feel free to share anecdotes related to the creation of certain tracks (a particularly funny moment, an unexpected challenge, the creation of a riff…). People are looking for spontaneous content!
4. What do your rehearsals look like?
Rehearsals are an integral part of a band's life. Yet they often remain invisible to your followers, which is a real shame, because they make for very interesting content! If you're in the process of writing new songs, sharing photos from your rehearsals will naturally create some teasing. If you're planning a tour and haven't revealed the dates yet, your followers will sense that something is in the works and that you're putting together your setlist!
You can share a clip from a rehearsal session, the moments when things don't always go as planned (because it happens sometimes!), the creation of a new track…
5. Ask your audience questions
As you know, social media isn't just for broadcasting information — it's also there to create interactions with your community! Don't hesitate to create interactive posts where you ask your audience questions directly:
- We're planning our tour. Which city should we come and play in?
- What is your favorite track on our latest EP / album?
- Who will be at our next show at [venue name and city]?
The idea is to create as many interactions as possible with your audience by encouraging them to comment on your posts!
In summary, to grow the visibility of your music project on social media, you don't need to post only concert dates or announcements for an EP or album release. Your day-to-day life within the band is already a genuine source of content, so don't hesitate to make the most of it! These tips also apply — with some adaptation — if you're an independent musician or if you run a label!
